Registration for classes

General

Register for the classes on this page. Currently the registration system is only in Swedish. The easiest way to register if you do not speak Swedish is to send us an email at info@riai.se. Include the following in your email: name, address, phone number, email and social security number.

Registration is binding and payment must be made before the start of the semester.

If you have questions, contact us at info@riai.se. If you want us to call you, mail us your phone number. You can also call the dojo phone: 0704 – 56 83 78

If you want to try out a class before you register, you can register as a member for a cost of 200 SEK, try two classes and then decide if you want to continue.

If you already have an account on our website, log in here before you sign up.

When you register for regular training and pay your membership fee (annual fee) and semester fee (training fee), you have the opportunity to choose how often or which training sessions you want to attend based on your rank.

For guests who train on occasionally (visits from another club and city/country), a class fee of 50 SEK is paid on site in the dojo. A guest is a person who is not a member of the association, and who does not train on a regular basis.

Workout clothes

Simple workout clothes is fine for the first few weeks, pants and a shirt with long sleeves. However, we urge everyone to buy a uniform as soon as possible, because it is more appropriate to wear a uniform, and because it is an important identity-creating factor to wear a real gi (training uniform). We train barefoot, so it is important you wash your feet before training. There is no specific aikido uniform, both karate and judo uniforms work well. If you want to buy a uniform, we recommend the Budo & Fitness Shop at Första Långgatan 30 in Gothenburg: tell them you are from Riai, show the card which you get at Riai, to get a 10% discount.

If you want to buy clothing over the counter, we recommend Budo & Fitness Butiken at Första Långgatan 30 in Gothenburg. Say you’re from Riai and show a card you get at the club, and you’ll get a 10% discount.

Aikido Slow:

Aikido Slow – fall safety & balance training for seniors

When you practice Aikido Slow, you increase your fall safety, balance and coordination. Training focuses on calm, graceful movements, increasing your fall safety, breathing, balance training and soft strength. We learn about balance and fall technique so that you can fall without injuring yourself. We practice daring to fall over without straining, and learn how to get back up.

What is soft power?

When we keep the body soft and flexible by moving – gently challenging our muscles, we gain body control. With body control, you can take better care of yourself and avoid injuries in the event of, in example, falling accidents.

Do you want to join? You do not need previous aikido experience. The important thing is bring a good mood! After each practice, we usually have coffee together for those who want.

Training clothes: loose-fitting clothes, such as sweatpants. Long sleeve or t-shirt doesn’t matter. WE train barefoot.

Class instructors are Tomas Hellberg and Sten Rydell, aikido instructors with extensive experience.

We practice on Tuesdays at 10.00-11.00 on 12 occasions.
